Australian Agriculture

Agricultural and Horticultural production returns are impacted by the global marketplace. Pricing is determined by the ability to produce the commodity to meet consumer demands around the world. Competitors traditionally viewed by producers as their next door neighbours are now producers from other countries. The neighbouring producers are required to work together to ensure there is enough production to maintain a foothold in international markets.

Australian production is generally viewed internationally as a niche marketer producing excellent quality produce.

With the improvement in production quality and lower cost of production of competitors the Australian producers are continually attempting to reduce their cost of production or diversify to meet market niches.
